Winners of the TBCT “Contribution to the Field Award”

2014 – Vania Powell (Brazil) conducted the first study of TBCT for people with social anxiety disorder (Powell et al. 2013).
2015 – Noah Clyman (USA) was the first certified TBCT supervisor in the USA, having trained and supervised many TBCT therapists.
2016 – Michella Velasquez (Brazil) adapted the TBCT model to adolescents, having contributed to the study of TBCT for this age population in public schools in her country.
2017 – Kátia Caetano (Brazil / USA) conducted a clinical trial comparing TBCT with a waitlist in a population with high rates of comorbid depression.
2018 – Cristiane Passarela (USA) has contributed to the dissemination of TBCT in the USA, especially with a population of immigrants and latinos.
2019 – Curt Hemanny (Brazil) conducted the first clinical trial comparing TBCT and behavioural activation for people with depression.
2020 – Anne-Françoise Chaperon (France) was the first certified TBCT supervisor in France, having trained and supervised many TBCT therapists, disseminating TBCT in her country.
2021 – Érica Duran (Brazil) conducted the first randomized clinical trial comparing TBCT and prolonged exposure therapy for people with posttraumatic stress disorder.
2022 – Eleonardo Rodrigues (Brazil) conducted the first randomized clinical trial comparing TBCT and EPR for people with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
2023 – Amanda Morrison (USA) developed and published article on the short forms of the Cognitive Distortions Questionnaire (CD-Quest), main measurement tool used in TBCT.

The TBCT “Contribution to the Field Award” is given annually to clinicians and researchers who made significant contributions to the TBCT development and dissemination. The winner is chosen by the developer of TBCT, Professor Irismar Reis de Oliveira. The criteria for electing the award recipient include having published research or made a contribution to disseminate TBCT nationally or internationally.
